Following a remarkable performance at the New York State Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend, Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ’s outdoor track and field team is set to compete with elite high school student-athletes June 21-22 at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championship in Philadelphia.
Student-athletes Nasief Smith, Daaron Harrell, Samir Gardner, Rohan Edwards-Grant and Adam Elia are excited to represent Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Athletics at this prestigious event.
The first to compete on Saturday will be the 4x100-meter relay team, which holds a personal record of 41.43 seconds—the second-fastest time in Section 2 history! Smith, Harrell, Gardner and Edwards-Grant earned second place at the state competition and are ready to take on strong competition at the national level.
On Sunday, the 4x400-meter relay team, featuring Gardner, Edwards-Grant, Elia and Harrell, will hit the track. They secured sixth place at last weekend’s state competition with a time of 3:20.79.
Gardner, who placed third in the long jump at the state competition with a jump of 22 feet, 8 inches, will also compete in the long jump on Sunday.
We extend our gratitude to the New York State Laborers Tri-Funds (LIUNA) and Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Med for their support in providing the resources necessary for our student-athletes to travel and participate in this thrilling competition.
Let’s go, Falcons!
