The City School District of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Board of Education has appointed Daniel Sanchez Dania as Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ's new girls’ varsity soccer coach.

"Soccer has shaped so much of who I am, and I can’t wait to give these players the same opportunities to grow, compete and build lifelong memories," Sanchez Dania said.

"My goal is to create a culture centered on hard work, accountability and having fun while representing Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ with pride."

Students and families are cordially invited to a "meet and greet" with Dania Sanchez on Wednesday, July 29 at 7 p.m. hosted by Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Athletics. This event will take place on the turf of the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ High stadium.

Recently graduated from Russell Sage College, Sanchez Dania holds a bachelor’s in physical education and a master’s in sports science: coaching and mental performance.

He played at Russell Sage during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, and also competed in the United Premier Soccer League as a member of FC Dutchmen Independence. Currently, he competes for Spindles United FC in the Upstate Premier League.

Sanchez Dania is fluent in both Spanish and English, and he began playing soccer at the age of 4. His professional coaching experience includes working as the camp director and lead coach for Beestera Soccer Training, and serving as the head and assistant coach at a variety of age levels for youth soccer with the Saints Football Club in Latham.

In addition to leading Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ High's girls’ soccer program, Sanchez Dania will teach physical education at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ International Academy starting in September.

He will begin his coaching position when tryouts start Monday, Aug. 24.
