District student a finalist in Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ County's "I Voted" sticker contest

A fifth grader displays the art work she submitted to the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Board of Elections.

You know those highly coveted "I Voted" stickers that poll workers hand you after your cast your ballot? Well, the next time you exercise your 15th Amendment right, the patriotic (and adhesive) badge you have to show for it may have been designed by a City School District of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ student.

But, perhaps predictably, the fifth grader  first!

Annie Morton's art was chosen as a finalist in Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ County's 2025 "I Voted" contest - a friendly competition sponsored by the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ County Legislature, Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ County Board of Elections, League of Women Voters of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ County, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in an effort to inspire youth participation in, and excitement about, the democratic process. But, let's be honest, those of us 18+ love to flex our civic participation with a sticker, too!

There are many creative entries but the Montessori Magnet School student's is the most Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ-ish of them all. Annie  beautifully combined Nipper, a tulip bed and the city's iconic skyline into one patriotic motif () that will look perfect on your shirt or water bottle come November.

Voting ends August 29 - good luck, Annie!
