Powerful opportunity with National Grid

Arscott at the scholarship signing ceremony

Thashenelle Arscott was one of three recent Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ graduates to receive the National Grid Electric Worker Scholarship, a $7,000 scholarship that assists students as they pursue their education at Hudson Valley Community College during the 2025-26 academic year. Arscott was honored along with 14 other scholarship recipients at a signing ceremony on Thursday.

Made possible through a collaboration with National Grid and its workforce development partners, the National Grid Electric Worker Scholarship program is in its second year. In addition to receiving financial support, scholarship recipients also receive one-on-one and group mentoring sessions with experienced professionals in the energy industry.

Arscott notes that taking Construction Technology at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ High with Art Erbe helped inspire her to explore job opportunities in the trade sector and apply for this scholarship. By pursuing an associate degree in electrical construction maintenance at Hudson Valley, she looks forward to building a career as a skilled worker in a critically important industry.

Also receiving scholarships but not able to participate in Thursday's event were Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ High graduates Amrin Mohima and Divon Williams.

Congratulations to all three of our grads on this tremendous accomplishment!
