North Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Middle School student-artists recently completed a public art project that transformed Adirondack chairs into colorful works of art that celebrate literacy, creativity and community!
will be installed along a brand-new Story Walk at Christ's Church Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ's new community center, the Love Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Center. The initiative was developed in partnership with the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Public Library, The Red Bookshelf, National Grid, the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Fund for Education and the Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Center Gallery.
Each chair features a unique literary theme designed to spark imagination and encourage families to engage with stories as they stroll along a walking path. The project provides students with a meaningful opportunity to share their artistic talents while contributing to a welcoming public space that promotes reading, learning and community connection.
Visitors to the Story Walk will enjoy beautifully decorated fence posts, picnic tables for reading and homework, family activities, a mini library where books can be shared and discovered, and even a small stage that will host story times and other community events. Children and families are invited to explore and celebrate the joy of reading.
"We are so proud of our North Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Middle School student-artists for their creativity, dedication and willingness to use their artistic skills to make a positive impact in our community," said art teacher Caitlin Sweet.
"Their work will leave a lasting impression on countless families who visit the Love Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Center for years to come."
