Campbell & Rose named MBK Fellows
On Thursday, the New York State Education Department inducted rising seniors Jahmeer Rose and James Campbell into the 2025 My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Fellowship program. Their class of 124 students represents 50 communities across the state and is the eighth and largest class in New York State MBK History. Check out this article to learn more!
Spectacular moments in sports
This week has been a spectacular one for Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ Athletics!
- Our boys' outdoor track and field team has hit thrilling milestones in the past eight days, with our 4x100m relay team breaking the school record twice within a week's time!
- Falcon fans were thrilled to witness a win over Colonie for our boys' varsity tennis team on Tuesday evening.
- Tuesday's unified basketball game against Guilderland was a slam dunk, with our Falcons winning against Guiderland, 39-31!

Decision Day 2025
Our Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High seniors celebrated National Decision Day by wearing post-grad apparel in celebration of their next steps as they prepare to graduate in June! we captured as we celebrated this exciting milestone.
Seniors and their families are also welcome to submit additional photos showcasing post-graduation plans, whether it’s college, the military, volunteering or straight into the workforce.
Just be sure to submit photos before noon next Tuesday (May 6), when additional submissions will be compiled and added to the existing Facebook album.
Mock Trial Team finishes strong
Congratulations to our Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High Mock Trial Team for a tremendous season! On Saturday, our Falcons advanced to the finals in the regional competition held at Schenectady County Court. We are immensely proud of all 17 team members for their hard work, dedication and performance in the court room.
Art accolades
Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High senior Kaylan Watts is set to be honored by the Colonie Art League with a $500 scholarship at a special art show and reception on Monday, May 5. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Watts and her dedicated teachers for the incredible honor of being chosen for this prestigious award! Make your community service hours count!
Falcons, please continue to log your community service hours in the under the experience tracking tab. Hours accumulate and can be entered for students in grades 9-12.
If you are looking for a fun and easy serving opportunity, check out the opportunity to serve at the , happening on Friday evenings in May and June. Students can learn more details and sign up to serve via this .
Seniors: remember that community service hours equal cords to be worn at graduation to honor your dedication to giving back to your community.
- Bronze cords signify two to 50 hours of community service.
- Silver cords signify 51 to 100 hours of community service.
- Gold cords signify 101 or more hours of community service.
Cords will be distributed when you receive your caps and gowns prior to graduation practice in June. If you need assistance in logging hours or have questions, please see your guidance counselor or stop by the Citizenship Academy office to see Ms. Lawyer.
Prom prep is in full swing
- Seniors, prom tickets are on sale until Friday, June 6! Senior Prom is Saturday, June 14. Tickets are $75 and purchasing information is available in. Please note that for our students who cannot celebrate in mixed company for cultural reasons, there will be a designated space at the venue for female students who would like to take part in the prom festivities! Please be advised that tickets are non-refundable and can be purchased at the Box Office in the main lobby at Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ.

Falcon creativity soars
Our Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High students have wowed us with their creativity in the arts over the past several weeks. On Thursday, April 10, students in Theresa Story's media arts class excelled at the 2025 Capital Region Media Arts Festival. Congratulations to Bekim Spelling, Akeela Robertson, Leo Connell, Ian Roach and Jadyn Hardy for being recognized at the event for their talent!
In honor of Earth Day on April 22, our Falcons studying world languages took to the sidewalks to create with phrases in French, Spanish and Chinese. Their creations brought a lot of joy to our school community!
Falcons fly to SkillsUSA State Championship
We are thrilled that five Falcons—Angelica Diaz, Sean Dwyer, Giovanni Flores-Ortega, Delee Ford and Lunesta Santacruz—traveled to Syracuse this week to represent Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High at the SkillsUSA New York State Championships. Check out this article to learn more about the competition!
Marvelous Musicians
On Tuesday, 21 Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High students were inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society! Along with existing members, the new inductees put on an incredible recital, showcasing their mastery of music performance.
The following day, we kicked off our spring concert season with our . Congratulations to our Falcon Consort, Albanettes, Troubadours, B Flats and Jazzmanian Devils for an outstanding night of music, and a big thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the show!

Biotech Lunch & Learn
On Tuesday, Julie A. Friot, Ph.D., and Donna Baron, Ph.D., from Hudson Valley Community College led an engaging Lunch and Learn workshop at Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ focused on biotechnology. During this interactive session, students were invited to participate in activities at various stations, utilizing laboratory instruments. Check out this article to learn more!

Equipping our Falcons for higher education
- On Wednesday, Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High students had the incredible opportunity to engage with representatives from thirty-six different colleges, institutes, schools and universities from Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Vermont at our 2025 College Fair! - We also want to share a friendly reminder to students and families about a scholarship workshop hosted at the Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ Public Library on Tuesday, April 29. for more details!
- The Guidance Department will offer a FAFSA help session on Friday, May 2, for families who need assistance completing the FAFSA/TAP applications for college financial aid. This session will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ College and Career Center, and an appointment is required. Complete this to register.
Junior Prom and Senior Prom tickets
- Juniors, you have until Friday, May 2 to purchase your tickets for prom! Prom is Saturday, May 17. Tickets are $75 and purchasing information is available in .

Free formalwear for Falcons
We want to help our Falcons look their best for their upcoming prom! Our next formalwear giveaway is Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Falcon Center at Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ High. to see the April schedule for all our formalwear giveaway dates and times.
Our Falcon Boutique continues to collect formalwear donations such as dresses, blazers, suits, tuxes, shoes, dress pants and accessories to distribute to our students. New and gently used items can be dropped at our main entrance on Washington Avenue 9 a.m.-2 p.m. If you are interested in making a financial contribution to help provide access to formalwear for our Falcons or if you have any other questions, please contact Joey DiPiazza at jdipiazza@albany.k12.ny.us.
